Currently, a rare opportunity for a permanent full-time position has opened up at our fertility clinic in Bergen, which is scheduled to begin operations in early autumn 2023. We have a very competent clinic manager and gynecologist in place and are looking for a laboratory manager and embryologist to staff our egg and sperm lab.

Qualified individuals will be highly motivated to assume the position, passionate about the work, and committed to maintaining and improving the success rate for our patients. We expect to hire a professional who naturally strives to achieve the highest possible level of quality and constantly focuses on development and improvement, for Medicus expects to offer the best treatments available. Applicants must have at least 3 years of practical experience working in an IVF laboratory, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and be familiar with the latest advances in clinical embryology. Strong interpersonal skills are also a must.

You will work closely with other skilled embryologists, locally and nationally, and enjoy the support of a strong and committed professional environment in Trondheim, Oslo, and Stavanger.
The clinic is now under construction at Bredalsmarken 15, in the center of the city with ready access to public transport and roads.
The new facility, like all of our clinics, will be equipped with the best equipment. We use systems such as Ideas EMR, RI Witness, Britannia Monitoring Systems, and Time Lapse incubators, so you and your patients can be confident that they are receiving the best possible care.
In addition, we are having the IVF laboratory built by external top specialists in IVF-lab construction to provide eggs, embryos, and sperm in the safest possible environment
Key areas of responsibility
Clinical embryology and andrology assignments, including
sperm analysis and sperm preparation,
identification and selection of eggs during egg retrieval,
IVF insemination and ICSI,
cultivation and evaluation of embryos,
selection of embryos for return, and
freezing and thawing of eggs, embryos, and sperm.
Operation of the laboratory and quality work, including
purchasing and operation and maintenance of the laboratory,
making registrations in the clinic's ERM system and reporting KPIs to the clinic and corporate management, and
contributing to procedure development in consultation with other laboratory managers and quality managers in the group.
Patient communication, including
updating patients on embryo development and
communicating with them about other aspects of treatment as needed.
Team management and collaboration across the group, including
as the clinic grows, leading the team at the laboratory and collaborating with the other laboratory managers and embryologists in the group and
participating in local and national professional meetings.
Qualifications and experience
bachelor's or master's degree in bioscience
3 or more years of practical experience in clinical embryology working independently and using all relevant procedures
experience with operations and quality work in an IVF lab (preferable but not an absolute requirement since the hire will receive strong support from the general manager and quality manager)
